Default Last pic Post S-Curve

For now I should say, the original concept of this build is a good one and fun also, The budget has been stuck to and well documented, The idea of building the nicest car I can for 15K in parts, seemingly it has lost interest but the build goes on and getting time to pull the body back off and start with some color, It has come to light that another car being built by Kevin Oeste named "S71" http://www.v8tvshow.com/ in my eye shares to much in common for me to build the car in the spotlight of the existing rendering, Looking at the two it makes me feel that my car is shopped, and I feel that some confusion between the two cars may exist at some time, so I have decided to contract with another rendering artist to come up with a new rendering for a car thats waiting for its own identity, so for now this is how the car sits, and a welcome to Kevin for a new Olds project to come to light.

While it's obvious that the two renderings are the same the cars are very different besides the wheels. Different colors, different hood and different graphics.

A car's "personality" is not derived from something as general as what you see in an exterior rendering. It's in the execution, the drivetrain and mostly in the details.

I thought your project was super cool and the goal of building a cool car on the cheap was worth paying attention to.

Good luck with the project.

I have just chosen to stay away from Blue on this car, The new color has been picked, No disrespect to Ben or Kevin, I just want it to have its very own path, Im very confident with the fit and detail of the car, now it just needs the finish, and as far as the 15K the car is on track, actually been a fun part of the project is finding the deal, I will post up more pics of the car after paint and happy with ant questions on parts or source.

The only problem I see with the color change is that everyone that voted is sort of expecting a blue car. I mean we could have gone with the paint jobs Kris, Jason or Brian suggested to stay away from what Kevin is doing on V8TV.

I'll step back from this and let everyone else offer some input.

BTW....looks awesome Jeff! Great work!

Hey Guys,

Just for clarification, I contacted Ben, Scott G, and Jeff Clark about using the S-Curve rendering as a starting point for our Olds S71 project, considering that a 71 Olds already existed in Ben's stash, and he's been pretty busy these days. Scott, Ben, and Jeff all gave the thumbs-up to use it, so it became the basis for our project. (Just don't want you all to think we just stole it!)

As for S-Curve, it's a great project... and I wouldn't think you're going to lose any of it's identity by what we're doing. Our S71 is going to look damn near stock from the outside, and it's using 99% of it's stock driveline - Olds 350, Muncie 4-speed - but we're adding a single turbo and possibly a Gear Vendor. The point of our car is to show that you can build something cool and fun and still return it to stock later. We're using the stock Viking Blue and white combo, although we're changing the wheels... Ben, I have to see if we can make a change there. All the S-Curve body mods are unique to S-Curve.

Jeff, I can assure you they are two very different cars, and it seems that you're upset over this. I hope not, your car is very cool, it's got a ton of unique attributes, and I think everyone on this board likes the concept and how well you've been able to document the car and adhere to the plan and budget.
