Good Morning All,

Well it's been a long time coming, the post that is.
A few pics of seats.

Check out the extra details that the guys did with the grommets.

To keep it Street legal with installed DOT approved Harness.
Trust me if your driving a car with racing harness and get pulled over they will write you a ticket.

They need all the revenue they can get.
www.seatbeltplanet.com

Floating Headrest installed.
These were the original headrest the guys did.
Tracy made new ones and Kenny hasn't sent me update pics. ( sorry Tracy )

Absolutely beautiful work on the seats. Love all the detail and how it flows together. Marty, what exactly makes seat harnesses "Dot" Approved? Kurt's installing 4 pt harness in my vette and I want to make sure I don't have problems as well. Where did you get them? Thanks!

Oddly enough it simple

The buckle itself has to be a single push button like we all use everday and it must have a DOT Certification. Which racing harnesses don't have.

According my insurance agent if I had a passenger in my car and he was wearing a non DOT approved belt i would be soley liable for all injuries and law suits. That is if he/she was wearing said non DOT approved belts. If they weren't wearing a belt then they would cover them. Talk about screwed up.

ps My agent is a very close friend so i value his opinion.

Also if your retrofitting belts into your car make sure you put the proper doughnut / re-enforcement plates at all mounting points.

I know juliano's make 3 point retrofit belts for muscle cars and they are also certified.

Marty,

Thanks for the info, but I have a question. I was looking around the link you provided and could not find anywhere where they stated the belts were DOT Certified. I saw a bunch about testing, but nothing about certification. Did I miss it? I would like to get this right. When it comes time to get these, I'll give them a call.

By the way, it is looking awesome. I can't wait to see it in Columbus.
