Default now what do I do???????????

I got my diff back finally from the chassis shop and trimmed down my old axles then assembly the pot installed the brakes and installed my wheels.Rolled it under the car up into place and found I only have 1/2" of clearance on the inside of my tires to the inner tub.If I space out the rims with 1/4" spacers per side I have 3/4".They shortened my diff 1/2" too much!!! What do I do now??? can he put new ends on again with the extra material added???
