Default Subframe Oil pan clearance Notice

DSE sub will not accept an LS motor with the LS2/3 "vette" oil pan on it. DSE confirmed this and is going to update it in their next catalog.

Pans known to fit:
98-02 F Body, stock LS7 or Champ.

You don't want to know how I found this out.

I hope you aren't too angry about this. The Vette pan is a real PITA when it comes to installing it into cars other than a Vette. Magazines have shown the pan swap when installing these engines into cars, and we always try to make the customer aware of this when they are using an LS engine in any of our chassis or subframes.

Thanks for bringing this up.

I'm good. DSE offered to make it up to me, but I had already found an Fbody pan and most of the other stuff.

I think they measured the side of the LS2/3 pan to determine clearance instead of measuring the bottom. That half circle on the front of the sump is where it hit.
