Alright, so we've covered the Wagon base, I'm thinking we may roll with the utility vehicle theme again...
Another noteworthy and often forgot about basis for a hot rod project is a car, or maybe it's a truck, no a car... Anyways, this one is inspired by my Bro-in-law who buys older homes outside the KC , MO area, renovates them and re-sells. One he bought a couple years back happened to have a worn but mostly original 69 396/4 speed SS El Camino in the garage. As a motorhead himself he managed to get the car thrown in the deal. What a find!
To all those elky and ranchero fans this one's for you. I'd like to put a twist on it though, I call that not only can you use the ones that really existed, but how about making one out of a car that never was an elky? Hmmmm, how about a 62 Impala based Elky, or an early Ford Thunderbolt Ranchero, or get even more nuts like our hero Steve Stanford and make one out of a 70's Duster. Original body or not, have a blast with one!
Here's some inspiration...
