That dash idea from the cowl hood is very different, but it actually could work very well. I do like how the vent panel is 'molded' to meet the hood too
As for color, ...I don't know why but I'm visualizing that car in a nice vintage gold, with black striping of some sort.

I actually really like gold, but I am also a fan of the 69 camaro Frost Green. I am not sure what it will end up at this point, I am going to spray some Green, Gold, Blue, and Silver and see which I like the best up agains the car...
