Default Surge Tanks and Fuel Pump Controllers......

Ok on higher HP boosted applications where fuel supply can be an issue, has anyone had any hands on experience with fuel surge tanks?

I get that they are a way of keeping the pumps in fuel all the time (assuming you can keep the pump supplying it in fuel?) but here is my question:

Would it be the same end result to just run a big A1000 in tank and return all the unused fuel at low boost/load?

If a surge tank needs to be fed by an electric pump anyways, if that pump isnt baffled properly it will still have potential fuel delivery problems right?

Next Question:

Boost referenced pump controller....... any thoughts on this? I have seen a few of them come and go but I have no real good information on them....

I am just trying to design a fuel system for a large centrifigual blower motor and I am just curious what the most effective method is. Read a bit on surge tanks and just wanted some feedback.

Surge tank should be build so that its big enough if feeding pump suck air on hard acc, braking or cornering. Surgetank is connected so that if it will get full, it will flow back to main tank.

Or drag style front surgetank, let the G do the work.

Are you planing to run with carb or EFI, if EFI then you can control you pump with your ecu.

I build'd a twin screw blown 572Hemi with custom fuel tank, trap baffles and 3 Bosch 044 pumps and they are controled by Motec so that first only one running but on boost all are on. After one summer, no problems.
