His supplier is in Canada, so it would be imported. The question is does Mike of Muscle Rodz supplier import the glass from China or it is made in Canada?

The only USA made supplier is called Pilkington. Their warehouse location is in Columbus, Ohio.

You are limited to only clear or green tint.

No smoke glass is made in the USA. The issue is not that it is imported, it is if the company having it made cares enough to make it right. We have had zero issues with windshields. Unless your looking for smoke I suggest buying from the installer. They are happier and if there is a problem, easier to fix a problem. Most installers around here use PPG.

Original poster wanted windshield glass, but never mentioned the tint. All the PPG warehouses closed in Ohio. PPG is now PGW, but a few people have reported PPG or PGW optics was warped, and the glass had to be replaced with Pilkington. I have talked to Matt at Sled Alley, and Mayhem uses Pilkington glass. Well, I just got back from Sled Alley today.

Here is the Original glass according to http://www.camaros.org/glass.shtml

Background

The primary first-generation Camaro glass supplier to the Camaro assembly plants (both now closed) in Norwood, Ohio and Van Nuys, California was Libbey Owens Ford (LOF). LOF continues to do business as a division of Pilkington and has reissued their old glasses under the name Pilkington Classics. A tertiary supplier of first-generation Camaro glass was Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG), which also supplied equivalent glass to the Firebird assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio. Contractual agreements theoretically allowed GM to purchase from either supplier for either GM division in the event of a shortage at the other supplier, but the only PPG glass use that CRG has verified to date in 1967-68 Camaro is occasional use in 1967 vent window glass. While there seems to have been some increase in the amount of PPG glass in '69 Camaros, especially at the Norwood Camaro assembly plant, due to the dominance of LOF glass in Camaro, this edition focuses on LOF glass. PPG marking details remain less well known to CRG, but as of the 27-Feb-2006 release are now briefly covered in the PPG marking appendix.

Mike's Muscle Rodz supplier is located in Ontario, California. JRD international. http://www.classic-new.com/
The company doesn't say they make glass at all. So, I did a little research on it. Well, when a company has a warehouse in California, then it is most likely getting parts for overseas. Here is the bill of ladiing information from google.

Perhaps the link is much easier to read from Google translate.

Fit? Vendors typically tell you that they have zero issues with fit, but the problem can occur after you have the glass installed. For example, a friend of mine has a 1969 Camaro Z28 and it need new back glass. So he used Auto City Classics glass, it fit the car great. The glass cracked within 6 months. The car was never driven at all, just sitting in the garage. He installed PPG glass installed in it, but it was bought from a closing PPG warehouse. There has been zero problems with fit and the glass has never cracked. Same glasser installer.

Oh AutoCity Classics uses a manufacturer out of Thailand now, but they have used several vendors from China.

Original Poster asked me a question on where to buy the glass. Well, I go to the supplier. Pilkington Classics
