Default Need weekend help...Ricks tank Fuel gauge question

Ok guys, so I sent Hector an email, this is not meant to be detrimental or derogatory in any way. I really enjoy dealing with Ricks, love the product. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this problem or has a solution for it.

In a 69 camaro we did, we have a Rick's EFI tank. NOT the vaporworx pickups. We are running a speedhut fuel gauge, 0-90 ohm, and it is calibrated correctly. Last night at 2 in the morning, I was coming home with the car and the gauge read almost half, so I didn't worry about fuel but right before home it started to stumble. Got into the garage and the pump was sucking air on and off. tapped on the tank, she was RIGHT empty. It is actually impressive how enpty the tank allowed itself to run.

I think at that point the sender was stuck up, because the gauge still read almost half. This morning, I rapped on the tank some more, and turned key on and it read dead empty. I put in 4 gallons I had and the gauge came up to 1/3. KEY ON ONLY, once I start the motor/fuel pump the gauge goes up to almost 3/4 full. Shut it off, turn key on and it goes back to 1/3. Check the calibration screen and it is reading 30 ohms, right where it should be. But when the pump is running the gauge goes up.

Is it possible the returned fuel is pushing the float up within the baffle? Ie turbulance etc? or that it is returning alot of fuel at idle situations and filling the baffle area where the pickup is higher than the rest of the tank? I can't really weld another return port on now.....or boom

Ideas? anyone had this? I know lots of people must have this tank
