Default ls swap

Anybody swap a ls into a 1st gen using Tremec 5 speed with a manual clutch? Issue is the pivot ball for the clutch points right at the header tube. I can modify the parts, just curious if anyone else ran into this and how did you fix it. Using Stainless Works headers. I'm gonna have to shift my motor forward slightly and modify the pivot ball bracket rearward.

This is speculative as I have not done this but, a hydraulic throw-out bearing is probably your best solution. The style with the TOB surrounding the transmission input shaft and then the proper bracket to locate the reservoir.

I'm considering an LS swap as well for my gen I with the same trans so I'm interested to find this out as well. Only concern is if the trans will shift in the rpm range the LS runs?

It should, I shifted my small block at 7000 on occasion, over 6000 a lot.

Easier to just go with a hydraulic unit. Check with American powertrain or hurst driveline for their hydraulic upgrade kits.
