Mike
I have a Canon t2i, not the greatest (especially in low light), but it works. The lens/glass is where the extra boost comes in.

For lenses i have the kit 17-55 lens (mediocre at best), 50mm F/1.8 (quite good, especially for the price around $100), and a 70-200 f/2.8L II (the beast, and one of the highest regarded lens), All Canon. My next upgrade will likely be a 24-70 F/2.8. then after that, a better low light body (Canon 6D or 5D markIII), unless something better comes out between now and then.

yeah. He's got a lot of good reviews. I haven't saved up enough $ yet to think about buying the additional lens or body. Much more photography side work to do before I get that much saved. LOL. But buy, I cant wait til I do, it will take me to a much higher level, for sure.

I research the snot out of things before I spend anything. lol

Albert - This Ken Rockwell piece will cost you nothing:
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/basics.htm

After reviewing that article click on tech from the menu bar for another couple weeks of free reading and increased knowledge.

One nice thing about Ken is he doesn't think you need $10K of camera in your hand to take a good image. At his recommendation I bought my the new EF-S 18-135 STI lens from Canon.....cheap as lenses go and it's tack sharp. Definitely my go to lens.......if it was a straight f2.8 I'd be in heaven.
