headlights

I have 2003 Jeep Cherokee. The headlights are so glazed over from the crap they put on the roads during the winter months plus the Colorado sun is so intense nothing works at clearing the lens. Tried Mequires, even used 500 grit first, did not work. The headlight assembly is milky looking. Anybody know a good source for purchasing new headlight assemblies at a reasonable price. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I bought some for my 99 for 90 bucks for both off of amazon I think. They fit decent, had to massage them in a couple of places to fit.

I tried some from an ebay site and they sucked so bad I sold them and hit up Craigslist. I paid $40 from some yahoo that put in a pair of tuner style.....bought off eBay!
Try a local wrecking yard also, tons of the 99-04 Cherokees out there.

I recently went about replacing the factory lights on my 01 Sierra for the same reasons. I wanted to upgrade to the Denali projector beam lights too. What I ended up doing was finding the OEM part number for the Denali lights and simply doing a search for them that way. It allowed me to cut out the clutter of useless adds that have a bunch of search engine words attached to the add.

What I ended up finding in my situation was OEM lights were an arm and a leg. Used OEM lights were only slightly cheaper than OER units. I said to hell with it and took my chances with the OER units. I figured if I someone wrecks their Denali, they are only going to get OER lights anyway. I'm afraid you might end up with the same situation. Just make sure they are DOT registered/legal. Those will be the better ones. Also, be sure to wax them like the paint. That will help keep them clean and not fade.

Try certifit auto body parts. Some stores ship some don't.

If you sand them with 500 then 800,1000,1500 ant then buff them with the mequires stuff, they will come out much better. I had the same problem on our pt cruiser delivery vehicle and it worked great, but the extra steps help substantially.

Cut them with 180 followed by 320,600 finish with 1000,shoot some clear and they will look new.
