Guys I wanna run gen 4 camaro brakes what am I missing

Wilwood and Baer have cables that you can use. You just have to measure how much length you need.


I guess you never had a car with that left side parking brake lever....biggest pain in the ass if I ever new one. Literally.

Honestly guys I am getting frustrated. It seems like not many people have successfully pulled off this brake conversion with an e brake. Not to mention I cant find anyone to install my brakes before summer is over. I am almost considering getting rid of my t56 and getting a 4l80 just because it wont be mandatory at that point. Even with the list Gui gave me there are still parts I cant just buy. What do I do guys?

Anthony, contact Jim. I posted on norcal and he will do the full install for $400 labor including his trip what is not a bad deal and he does great installs. I will text you his phone.

I woudl say do not despair! Do you have the small e-brake metal brackets that hold the line on the axle?

Again if the only need for the e-brake is for parking purposes the simplest approach is a hydro lock setup inline, plus great theft protection as well.

Vince lol, I hear ya, I had the Ferrari we were shipping to my buddy here for several months and could never get used to it or (nor the reverse in first gear pattern lol), but it was a fun little ride. I agree the left side hand e-brake brought the suck. I still think it is better than the foot e-brake though.

I am thinking for Anthony's ride, since he is planning to keep the foot brake, a hydro lock will be a good approach for parking purposes.

I dont have the small brackets that hold the lines, do you know where I can get that? Whats hydro lock and how do I do that?

Vince I dig the electrics, but only issue with them is they draw power so if the bat disconnects or charge drops, they do not work too well.

I would go with a line lock hydro type than electrical for the reason above. I have run them on rock crawlers and they are fairly simple, and you can go as fancy as you like with cutting brakes, swage locks, etc.

Anthony, from your text, basically they run about $30 bucks and up, to operate:

1- just push your regular foot brake pedal (to clarify not e-brake pedal), and hold.
2- press button on line lock (if electric) or turn handle
3- release foot brake.
4 - you are now locked

Again this is a pretty simple approach, works pretty well to use as a e-brake and theft deterrent (plus front dig for burnouts )
