I agree with Vince. I'd convert it to a Fastback, if it were mine, at this point.
Is the shop that originally built this car, a reputable place?
A little rust in a car is one thing. A car like this, which is pretty much rotted out, concealed by a nice new shiny paint job...this is a totally different sermon.

I think I would have cut my losses and scrapped the car. Man I feel bad for the guy.

I said I wasn't going to add to this thread but I wanted to show what was left of his original Mustang that we could use.



He found a donor body and we will be removing the sheetmetal and epoxy priming everything and fitting new sheetmetal. Today starts the build of his Mustang.

One time I was at Marcel's - and talking to them about some sheetmetal fab on the '36 Five window I had.... and Marcel pulls the cigarette out of his mouth and says "Gleg... you bring me lace... I can build you a whole 'ucking' ca from scratch cheaper dan repair dis POS"......

Oh man no love for the coupe ?

The workingman's Mustang ?

Always liked the coupes better (pre '69 of course), they just looked tougher to me. Trans Am racing, bla bla bla.
