not sure about colors but it goes into your transmission. When you put the car in reverse the transmission completed the path and sends power to your reverse lights. Think of your transmission as a house hold light switch

Green wire goes to one sided the reverse switch on the tranny and then the other side to the BU lights.

ECM plays no part in it. Basically the green is 12v power. When in reverse the switch in the tranny closes and you get 12v at the BU lights. The BU lights are grounded in the trunk.

Thumbs up

The reverse switch is on the pass side of the T56. Make sure it is connected to your body harness. If you need the pigtail, they can be purchased off of eBay. What harness are you using? When I put an AAW classic update harness in my car, I ended up re-routing the pink and green reverse lights wires that were in the dash harness through a couple of unused slot on the engine harness plug (from the fuse block) and just extending those wires to the switch. I could have just ran them through the shifter hole but didn't.

AAW harness for me also. I purchased the pigtail for my t56 (reverse light pigtail) from AAW as well. Pink and green both go to tranny. Match the colors up and your golden.

yep, just extend the wires under your dash down to the switch. Factory switch was on the column or center console.
The pink is ignition 12v and the green goes to the lamps.
