Isn't that T-5 a light duty transmission? I know they didn't put them in the 350 F-body's, only the 305 cars due to the torque difference.

That 455 has to make gobs more torque than a '91 305!

I'm not sure if it can be built strong enough to handle a ton of torque, either?

It is the stronger of the T-5's made with fine spline input, They are a cheap budget way to go for this kind of build, The mustang guys have been beating the hell out of them for years, But I also am not about to put slicks on it and let the clutch go at 5 grand either, and if it breaks it breaks, The car after the budget build project will serve many changes and diffrent products, My old 71 corvette has one in it with a mild 406 and has been beat quite hard with out fail but all things will break at one point. I am more worried about the c clips for a road track car And we will need to put some c clip eliminators on.

Sounds like you are getting a lot bought for a very respectable price.

Was the information regarding the Olds 455 build, in the magazine helpful?

I'm anxious to see how this works out.

FWIW: If the Valves are too big in the heads, air velocity will be comprimized and bottom end power will suffer. (Been there done that, $$$ Ouch!)
