Default 5th gen console in a 2nd gen....anyone done this?

thinking of putting a 5th gen console in my 73, looking for any info and pics if anyone has experience doing this. thanks

I did this. Works and looks great. I love having cup holders lol. I can't seem to post any pics from my phone though. The shop just had to make a simple bracket to mount it on.

I've done a LOT of looking and measuring etc and the best console I've found that retrofits to musclecar applications is from the mid-2000 Impala LTZ/SS. It's not too contemporary-looking and it's built like a traditional console, with no handbrake and no vertical panel to integrate with the dash. Find one in a boneyard and measure it up for your application. One of the best things I've done to the GTO.

That does look nice. I have an 11 ss and love the console...may have to try one in my 73!
