Default Does any one live in or near Charlotte NC

I just got my acceptance letter from UNC Charlotte. I will be going there this fall to study mechanical engineering in with a concentration in motorsports engineering. I am actually going in as a junior since I am a transferee with an associates in engineering. I am not what I would consider a traditional student I am 24 years old and have been working full time as a machinists and fabricator for the last 7 years.

I guess what I am looking for is what part of town I should look to live in not shore if I want to live on campus at 24 years old. I will be visiting in April. what should I check out while I am there for my visit are their any cool parts of town that I shouldn’t miss. I will all so be looking for a part time job while I am there. I need to work on something I will go crazy just going to school for four moths at a time and not working. I would like to work in some sort of shop maybe 10-20 hours a week. I don’t know what is available down there. I would consider my self a good machinist and a very able welder with some sheet metal experience.

Let me know if you know of any good places to look to live or any jobs that I might be interested in.

Brian

Default Charlotte

I live here and will give you the best guidence I can. Pm me your phone number and I will give you a call tomorrow and we can discuss what you are looking for as far as a place to live. Job wise...you are in NASCAR country with a large support system. A job should not be a problem.

Hey Brian,

If you are going to UNC-C then DSE is just up the road in Mooresville. Payton would probably know exactly how many miles. Maybe Kyle would give you a part-time job.
