Same story here, long time viewer but have never posted anything. I'm an avid car guy and own several of them. I've owned a 1968 Camaro since 1990. In 2000, right around the time pro touring was becoming a thing, I did a ground up resto-mod to my car. Since then I haven't driven it much, 3000 miles in 17 years to be exact. The car is beautiful but it still rides and performs like an old car.
My buddies have been hounding me for years to do something with it, the chief culprit has been Hackster who's pretty active on this forum.
Anyway, it's finally going to happen. Here are a couple of pics of the victim as she stands now:
The car is currently equipped with a 400 hp 350, 700R4, GM 12 bolt, Wilwood 4 piston disc brakes, and a stock subframe with tubular control arms with coil overs.
I've been spending a lot of time talking with the the guys at Speedtech and that's the direction I've decided to go. A few details are:
Full extreme chassis with torque arm rear suspension
Stop tech brakes
Full floating Ford 9" rear end
GM LT4 connect and cruise crate engine with T56
Mini tubs
Forge line wheels
Roger and Ben have been super helpful with ideas and I'm excited to build a great car. Especially with Hackster's help!!
Disassembly starts next week and parts are on order!
