Default Reputable Engine builder

Looking for a trustworthy engine builder. I’m
Wanting to do either a supercharger or twin turbo set up for my 68 Camaro. Hoping to get around 800-1100 HP with the ability to tune down if wanted it needed.

I was originally going to buy an LT5, but missed the boat unfortunately. I am in the Dallas area. Unfortunately had a bad experience with DuSold out here so don’t want to use him.

I believe Kurt Urban is running the Scoggin Dickey custom engine shop. He is an excellent engine builder.

Texas Speed is 3 hours away in Georgetown.

Edelbrock has a supercharged 416 LT crate engine they rate at 850 hp and Blueprint has a supercharged 427 LS rated 800 hp.

The power level is easy, but what are you starting with? I agree with most of the builder recommendations except LME. Don't get started, but not a fan. HPR and Kurt Urban are both amazing. What you want to do is easier than you think, it's just a matter of putting a package together. The tuner is more important than you think. A stock 5.3 w/ gapped rings will handle the power you want to make.

Ironically LME was who I was looking into. Would love to know what happened.

I am actually leaning more towards this route now. However, I am looking into an aluminum 427 long block that I can throw a Magnuson on later.

I wouldn't hesitate to use LME. Several friends have their engines and have been VERY happy.

Mine is a Texas Speed engine built back in 2014 and all the work they did has been great.

Why no LT5? if in Dallas i know of a LT5 for sale right now that would be relatively local!
