Default A small update!

I missed the last autocross event of the season but my car went through some minor upgrades. Once I get the money I’m going to add 3” drop springs for the rear to help level out my car and upgrade to 6 piston calipers up front.

After the autocross in KC and getting tossed around like a rag doll I decided to install race seats.

So I switched out my front calipers to a 6 piston and it made a world of difference. It’s amazing what a few extra square inches of stopping surface will do. Anyway, I got the car setup for my first SCCA event and she was hooking up great but I really need to learn not to over power my car around corners. It might help upgrading my tires to a DOT race slick just to keep up with the rest of the cars in my class. Either way had a blast and each run my time got faster.

So this summer I was knocking down some laps at MPH and going around corner 5 started hearing some noise coming from engine. Not taking any chances loaded the car and headed home to see what was going on…well come to find out ended up blowing a head gasket and filling 3 cylinders full of water. The engine bay was dripping wet with antifreeze and a pain in the butt to clean up. Well got her back together a couple weeks before the KC goodguys and she’s running better than ever.

While at KC doing the autocross I just couldn’t seam to break that 30 second mark so I gave the keys to Kevin Miller and Kyle Tucker to see if they could break the 30 second mark. I didn’t get a video of Kevin but did get one with Kyle. Oh and did I mention that I couldn’t get my 10 year old son out of my car!!! I didn’t even get to ride along with Kevin or Kyle because Zach jumped in the car before I could. Here’s a quick video of Kyle and Zach doing the GG autocross.

So I ended up buying a fays2 watts link for my car in hopes for better traction. I’m also thinking about a strong arms and adjustable coil over shocks for this winters upgrades.

Were are we at with this car....?

Just read the whole thread and i like it!

Im in about same situation as you with an ultra clean and 100 % numbers matching car that i cant come to tearing apart!!! Bolt on 's are a possibility as i could keep its value and easily turn it back if wanted.

Inspiring.

Lead.
