Default Who am I?

My name is Brandon Wiedeman. I have a BSME from Purdue University and I'm currently working as a Project Manager for Ferguson Metals. We supply stainless steel and high temp alloys in sheet or coil form to aerospace industries as well as automotive, appliance, medical etc. We were just recently purchased by O'Neal Steel, which has been good so far. I'm also currently going to Xavier University (In Cincinnati, OH) for an MBA.

I'm 27y/o and live in Dover, IN (about 20 miles West of Cincinnati, OH). I've been happily married for 2 1/2 years to an understanding wife (She just rolls her eyes at me a lot when I talk about cars)

My Dad has managed a Body Shop at a local Ford Dealer for the last 35 yrs. So I pretty much grew up with a sanding block in my hand. I love all things that are related to cars and motorcycles. I currently have an '89 Mustang coupe, '52 Chevy Pickup.

More than anything about they hobby, I love that my Dad and I share such a passionate interest in the same thing. All of the time spent with him working on projects has been great. I can't wait to actually finish a few of them though! LOL

Sorry for getting a little long winded. It's great to learn a little more about people on the site.

Brandon

ZZ3ElCamino-

Yes, it is a pretty fun job. I've been able to learn a lot about injection molding, die casting, and deep drawing of Aluminum. We do a lot of engineering "under the hood" that very few people get to see. We primarily use Unigraphics to design our products. Since our Industrial Designers work in Alias, UG is one of the best tools to design from their surfaces.

wiedemab-

Go Boilers!

My wife graduated from Purdue with a BSEE and grew up in Cincy. How do you like Xavier, I've heard some good things about the school?

Default Go Boilers!

So far I like Xavier. With the exception of one of the Professors they have all been great. Business school is a whole lot different than engineering school, but I'm adjusting. I'm in an On-Site Program that meets 2 days a week for 4hrs each time. It's a cohort program so the same 33 of us will have to see each other every Monday and Wednesday for the whole 22 months. I like the fact that we get to know each other though.

Go Boilers! I've got a lot of respect for EE's. ME's had to take 1 EE class with a lab. It sucked! The next semester they taught us the Laplace Transform, which would have made EE201 soooooo much easier. I haven't been back to the campus in about 2 years and from what I hear, I wouldn't recognize it. I'm hoping to make a trip up this year for Grand Prix!

Dodgenut64 "Jim"
I have owned stock in your company WFR off and on for quite a few years. The fifties feels a little pricy, any insight.

l live in tropical ( right, Scott) south eastern South Dakota. I own a custom cabinet shop, have 4 kids and 1 grandson (I'm an old guy!!) and am really just getting back into messing around with cars again after quite a while. I've put the time in on the cabinet shop ( we now ship to 30 some states) and am now enjoying taking some time to work on cars again.

George:

Awesome, I love the names, how did you get your wife to agree?

Any more cars... I mean kids in your future?

I guess it's good you didn't marry a European girl, then their names might be, Mercedes, and Portia.

Thanks,

Ty O'Neal
