If she thought it was a ring and it wasn't, he would have been in alot more trouble than just washing parts in the sink.

I've always loved seeing picture of this car. I never new there was a build thread on the car.

Wow you have done an incredible job documenting the build of this car.

Thanks Marty, it's as much bull ****ting as it is car stuff. I enjoy it.

Tone, it will be next week. Jason called today and the rods were hitting in an unusual place between the cylinders and camshaft. It's all clearanced now but that meant going from the assembly room back to the dirty area. He normally dry test fits everything but didn't expect issues since the paperwork clearly states the block will clear up to a 4.375 stroke. Evidentally the H beams are a little chunkier than GM used to spec out the block. Just a small bump in the road.

Todd --

It's the proverbial 3 lbs of S*** in a 1 lb can...

Motor guy came to the shed today... and it's amazing all the little details they have to watch for with these "special" blocks... and mine isn't really so special... but we have to remember to use a small base circle cam... and .300 taller lifters... and a pan that's made for a wider rail... and...

Better he found out then, then if it got back to you in that condition. But, like you said, they are a reputable engine builder.
Good deal. Keep us posted bud!

It will be like a double blueprint build because he will be checking the assemble again.

Now that I'm running dual crankcase puke cans, I had to find a clean place to mount the coolant recirculating tank. I want to keep the crankcase vent fittings, hoses, and tanks in harmony. So I decided to draw me up another sketch and send it over to my trust water jet guy.I designed it so it would all but disapear. I also brushed this tank and sealed it. I'll be using -6 fittings and hoses. The bracket will get the krylon touch in semi gloss to blend in with the inner fender.

I also began mocking up the new radiator. I want to use the same holes as with the old radiator. I asked for the mounting tabs to be blank. I decided to wait until the engine is back in to locate my holes. They don't call it a big block for nothing. It's tight between all my accessories and the cooling fans. I'll wait so I can jockey it around and make sure I have proper clearance. It's going to look great in there.

Nice!

Next time you show your hands in a pix -- throw some dirt on 'em.
