Nice work! I definitely agree that you could really screw things up at this phase. All of my past work on structural stuff has been with tube chassis, which looks comparatively easy relative to getting all those floppy sheet metal pieces to go together straight and square. You're right to be really careful, it will pay off in the end.

Not quite sure yet on shaving the cowl. If I don't, I'll have to make sure I have good drains for it. I kind of like the stock look of having it there, but it's completely un-needed at this point. Good thought on the vents. I hadn't given that a thought yet. I'll have to think about how to incorporate something.

Default Cage...

Finally started bending up the cage. The plan is to build it while the outer cowl is still off to more easily be able to tie everything together. This was our first ever attempt and we took our sweet time, but I'm happy with how the main hoop turned out.

Created a layout on my floor!

The plan is to position it so the the rubber on the quarter glass somewhat hides the tube - - Dad took measurements off of his car.

Main hoop is tacked in and the rear down bars are tacked in. I made the rear bars straight since I have not intentions of running a rear seat. They have about 10deg or so of inward angle to clear the wheel tubs. I'll add some triangulation to everything as well. I'm still finalizing how I want to do that in my head.

I plated above the rear framerails and shock mounts. This is a pretty solid area with the DSE shock crossmember etc.. I made them big enough to tie in some of my other braces once I figure out exactly how I'm going to do them.
