Thats pretty damn impressive that all of you were only a few seconds behind.
And Kudos to the guy with the CGT for actually driving it

I kept hearing over the walkie that the CGT was going 5 seconds faster than anyone else and it definitely looked like it.

Also I hope those kids made it home with the Nova ok.

Talking about the red 62 nova sedan? If so, made it home ok, had a tranny leak.

No talking about the kids that had just bought a nova at the hotel we were staying at. They didn't know how to strap the car down. Greg and myself had to go over there and show them how to strap it down. Greg even gave them a set of straps.

Hey, your car looked great---tried to track you down between rounds to let you know---looked like you were having a great time on the road course and it sounded good too. Really nice car--love the wheels!

Thanks, wish I could have done the autocross, but didn't want to take a chance. Road course was a blast, 1st time out on the track and 1st time out with the car.

...and to put this in perspective, my understanding is that the GT was owned and driven by the father of the guy who runs the driving school and had more than a few laps on that particular track. David didn't attend the driving school on Friday and ran the course for the first time just before running his competition laps. And yeah - the guy in the Porsche deserves all the kudos in the world for flogging it the way that he did.

...another note, there were some sector times recorded within the overall lap times and it was pointed out after the fact that Mary in her '73 was actually faster in some of the sectors than the Carrera. That says tons about the abilities of a leaf spring car (and Mary's improving road course skills)...
