05-19-09 Update - Mesh Grille

Good Afternoon,

I've had many question about the mesh grille and how it was built.
So today's post is about the grille.



Way back when, Kenny had the grille 3D scanned and from that Wood Bucks were made.




The Mesh was cut and the laid on top of the wood form.
Then all you do is gentle hammer the mesh around the wood buck.



Trim the excess material and you end up with something that looks like this.
It's hard to tell from the picture but the mesh is in the same shape as the factory grille



Cut out the old grille



Here is how the grille looks installed in the truck.

Q: when is the engine cover going to be ready? I can't wait to see this finished, I've been folloing the building from here and from pro-touring.com too, and this is one of my favorite builds

As far as the engine cover - we are going to hold off at this time. However it may happen at some point.
