So it had been probably 2 years since the car was blasted. Turns out there was a little surface rust under the primer. Easy enough to fix, just have to get it back to bare metal!
All gone!
Acid etching was next to be sure good bond for the primer
So went by yesterday to check out the car and progress. First time I've seen it in a few weeks. Very happy with how it's looking!
Also snapped a picture of the door bar as well as I hadn't seen the completed one in person. hard to tell but it runs very close to the door panel. They make a stock appearing removable wheel for the 69 camaro. I'll likely be picking one up to assist with ease of entry. Depends on how it shakes out with the new seats and seeing how it all fits together!
I'm told by next week the car will be completely stripped of the green and uniform white primer. He'll start blocking on the car and fixing some small areas (mostly gaps). My marquez designs stuff (turn signals, and billet marker lights) finally showed up, will be picking it up today and likely posting pictures.
Thanks. I'm definitely excited to see it finally at this stage. Car looks like a complete car again and it hasn't been that way for a WHILE. Getting a lot of memories coming back from when I drove this car to high school...
Cant wait to relive and remake some of those in the near future
