No, we used 1/8" & 3/16" rod then TIG welded the rod to the door.

Thanks Mario,

I needed advice as I wasnt sure what the best fix was with my situation. Add to door and/or fender, disect part of the fender or cut fender brackets and move. This was my first outing with repop fenders. I have read numerous threads, etc but I guess you have to experience it yourself.

Looking good Jay. Those are AMD fenders?

Comforting to hear more good things about Dan. If all goes as planned I should be meeting up with him in February .

Hey John...I will send you a PM as I dont want people to think I'm bashing a vendor as I am definitely not. I spoke with a fellow of the company and informed him of my issues and he was very responsive and was glad I called and asked me to send pics.

I guess I'm surprised that these aftermarket peices take so much loving or maybe its my OCD kicking in.

Let me know when you are bringing your Nova up. Im sure Dan will do an excellent job for you.

looking good Jay, been following your build, i'm origanaly from NC also.
I just purchased a 69 myself and will prob look Dan up when i get ready to start, Question? are the doors replacement? if so what manufacture? and also the fenders are they AMD? I was thinking about using AMD on my build. as mine will prob need fenders and doors and quarters, i'm not looking to start any negitive post about peplacement metal just trying to get an idea about whats out there.
thanks
keith

Hey Keith,

My doors are original with AMD skins. I used AMD qtrs and fenders. The fenders had nice crisp lines and aligned to the door peak nicely. I was disappointed with the size of the gap between door and fender. However, adding some filler rod to the doors fixed the gap issue and its a nice 3/16"-1/4" gap now. I am pleased with AMD sheetmetal, especially the gauge of the metal and lines compared to other makes.

I will try to get some updated pics showing gaps soon.
