I was sure everyone saw us rolling in during the drivers meeting and madly unloading the car. At that point our team had all been awake for the last 36 Hours and counting. Paul and his father were bleeding the last of the brakes (multi pistons hold air like a mother) and we were trying to plug the hole on the diff where the corvette VSS sensor goes but we forgot it back at home. One tech extension, two tech extension we we’re having some trouble with the rear swaybar and the brake light switch never got wired for some reason. Finally Tyler walks up for the last time, Brianne is strapped in and getting ready to take off and then the final straw. The front Z06 wheels high centered on the Z06 brakes and locked up the front wheels, that’s when Tyler with the tech team helped make it plane to me, not this year.

Tyler, a big thank you to you sir for putting my foolish, sleep deprived, rampaging butt in check, I would have surely broken something vital or hurt someone the way we were going. At that point I really wasn’t in the right mind to make that call. With so much money, time, and some blood in a few places into getting there I didn’t want to give up. You were right a few parking lot drives weren’t nearly enough to be comfortable with it. I know personally Jason would have killed me if something happened to Brianne while driving my truck too then I really wouldn’t have made it out next year. We didn’t have the chassis dialed out the way it needed to be and with the interior in its serious disarray. Even if we won every event the show points would have smacked us back to the bottom. With the experience behind me I have to look at the bright side, I have all year and 2 fresh sets of Hoosiers to start. I’m already working on a revised frame for next year to be swapped sometime this spring to shave a little weight.

cool project Russell, nice meeting you at SEMA. Watch out for those brass 90 degree fittings coming off the gas tank, they are quite restrictive compared to the mandrel bent full flow 90's the AN companies offer. Not good to restrict fuel on a twin turbo setup, plus any restriction is tough on the electric fuel pump(s). May not cause you an issue, but if you notice fuel pressure dropping with the boost turned up check those first.

Then again, I'm not positive that's the fuel tanks, so if not................... never mind. Maybe they're oil tanks for the turbos, not using engine oil to feed?

Russell,

I don't know how much you've driven the truck enough to form a solid n opinion of how it performs, but if you have, what are your overall impressions?

Looks like it should be a lot of fun.

The yellow frame really grew on me. I like the use of red also.

If it was me I think I'd like the wheels a dark grey color.

Same here I just wish I had more time to chat. When your chasing a problem it take 10x more effort than when you get to talk about it in retro speck.

The fuel 90's on the bottom are the cross over for the gas to get from the left side to the right side when your driving. By keeping the gas split up it reduces the centrifugal force generated by your gas hitting the side of the tank. This way your fuel's weight will have an impact on both sides of your center line and offer less migration of the CG when driving. Since all your suspension reacts in relation to the CG this will help make for a smoother transitions when driving..... in theory, lol.

Cool thing about the turbos being in the back when we were on the dyno the turbos were staying right around 400 degrees. The EGT was in the 800-1000 (i have lots of spark to find) depending on where we were in the RPM's and the ITA temps were only +15 to +20 over ambient because of all the cooling happening on the air from front to back. And that was on a dyno so we didn't have any air moving around the car offering more cooling to the system.

I'm crazy happy with the Pfadt shocks. I've got about 40 miles on it now shaking down the chassis and chasing loose nuts and bolts and getting all my sensors working and calibrated. I've been driving with then on 4 and 3 and the ride is really smooth. They go up to 16 and the front and rear have there own valve patterns. Steering is a little tough right now but that's because our power steering pump was leaking and we were trying to find the culprit. Haven't got to throw it around yet. I'm still getting back to work on my customers projects. Everything stopped here a month before SEMA including the cash flow, lol. So that takes a little priority right now but I have an auto cross the first weekend of December I want to be at, hehe.

The yellow rocks !!!!! Like you said, it goes with the green really well. I've got some black I think I'm going to mix with the Gray I have left and see what comes out.

I'm working on the video so look for it tomorrow.

we're working out the little tuning issues and I'm learning the STACK ST700 Tack, this this is nuts with all its features but I think I might be able to get it to cook dinner for me too, lol. Progressive Sequential Shift Lights, maw hahaha.
