Default engine work and tig technique

Its been a while since I have posted updates. I still have my time stuck in the engine. A few images follow but I've done Wiseco forged pistons, H beam rods, top secret cam , dual valve springs, dual chain timing set, ARP fasteners, f-body oil pan, but I am still waiting on a few parts to wrap this thing up. oil pump, felpro gaskets and a new timing cover are on thier way.

Updates:

Roller lifter oil soak:

This was a late night project:

Degreeing the new cam:

I may sell the degree kit now but not sure.

New motor mounts, part one:

Turbo oil feed fitting on the new f-body pan:

Thats about it for now, things seem to be going slow but its important to get the details in the engine correct.

Thanks for looking.

Default valve stem seal installation

I forgot to post this image with my last update. This is the first engine I have ever worked on and I've been enjoying it. There's a lot of components though and its taking away from time on the body.
I had done some searching to find out how to properly install viton valve stem seals, many forums people recommend using a socket and tapping them down until it "sounds right". I called COMP they said no-one had asked them before. So after feeling a little dumb and searching some more I cam across this valve stem seal installation tool. $3.
I had initially done the "use a socket and tap until it sounds right". I took everything apart again and did it over with this tool. After using it I don't think its possible to install valve stem seals correctly with a socket. None of them were down far enough and they were all different.
This tool is cheap and would save a lot of headaches if your newly rebuilt or built engine ended up burning oil.
I hope someone comes across this if they are searching, maybe I'm the only one that didn't know

I didn't know about the valve stem tool either. Btw I was looking at your wheels in the back ground and I also went with a wheel that doesn't have a lip. I think lips are kinda get used to much. Yes they look awesome when they are huge but I knew I wouldn't be able to put a massive 5'' lip on my wheels. I also wanted a light wheel. I went with the TSW Nurburgring wheels. I actually like yours better.

Thanks - the engine is starting to come together, finally!

I started Jan 6, 2012 and have 225 hours of garage time into this and at least that many hours left I think. No idea what that time would cost in a shop or how the time compares to someone with experience.

c'mon man, you can squeeze yours in

Four restos and two guys in a shop make it tough to justify building my car. But I did just hire someone else so we will see how it goes. Plus I have that widebody 280Z for my buddy that I wish I never started. It was suppose to be just a quick paint job and easy mods on it. But you know anybody on here and their imagination runs wild...
