Sometimes the progress is slow but thanks for the compliment, they are always appreciated.
I went with the tank from (
Rick's Stainless because it met all of the projects needs at this point in it's "life":
- It has a killer Kinsler spec Bosch fuel pump mounted internally
- Supply and return line plumbing is all AN right off the bat
- It is clearanced on the forward end for the exhaust
- It fits in the original space and configuration
- Fit, finish and quality is absolutely second to none
not to mention the fact that Rick and Hector and everyone at the shop are great to work with and always have a minute to answer questions and work through problems. None of the other fuel tank or cell vendors that I have used in the past had (IMHO) anything close to the Rick's tank so it was an easy decision in the end.
The Rick's tank does not require additional bracing or a cage; it uses two stainless straps and is mounted just like a factory tank. If we make a modification to the fuel system in the future for some regulatory reason then we would look to a slightly less (but still basically) stock layout.
