I forgot to weigh myself first thing this morning but after eating breakfast and getting back from the gym I am at 180 lbs. Not sure this weight counts as I like to use the weight that I am when I first get out of bed for reference. Goal is 175 but that could change if I still see belly fat.

Had a good first experience at the gym and made 4 new friends. Also saw and talked to one of the dads from my boys wrestling team. He is an auto glass installer and is the one that helped me install my rear lexan so I got the opportunity to talk cars which was very cool.

Get Healthy..

You want to spend money like crazy ? Be unhealthy...

I just dropped 1600 Dollars on my portion of an emergency room visit...

Then they wanted tests of my heart and my Brain again..

1500 more dollars....

I have Insurance, and this is just my portion, in just 2 months...

So how much could I have done on my car for 3 grand ???!!!!!!

Probably finished the Interior..

I have blown what amounts to a ZR-1 engine and tranny upgrade on Medical, this year alone..

Just to give you some more motivation...

I had a bad day yesterday...due to schedule, no exercise, and bad lunch (fast food), and dinner was suchi.

Funny thing, I had to scarf dinner down due to schedule, and ate my "normal" amount, quickly, and then proceeded with our things to do. After about an hour I realized I was stuffed. I have to realize my new "normal" is smaller than it use to be.

Back on track today, had a yogart and apple for breakfast, small amount of chicken salad, grapes, and 1 piece of turkey jerkey for lunch.

Also down to 1-2 diet Cokes a day, with more water.

Taking the day easy today... Long ride tomorrow (80 miles) and recovery ride (30 miles) on Sunday. I got my drink on last night so Im already done for the weekend.

I wonder if I'll find time to get something done on the car this weekend.

i've got my first marathon coming up in november. Even though I have a solid base of running (25-30miles a week) I am starting basically at ground zero of a marathon training plan. So tomorrow I am only going to run 8 or 9 miles followed by 3 with the wife on sunday. Fridays are my day off and I do nothing. I run 4-5 days a week and lift 2-3 days.

Goal setting is not a one time task with the results set in concrete. Instead, it's a continous, lifelong process.--Jim Rohn

Once you achieve a goal, you must maintain that goal and set an additional goal to fuel the fire.

Guys, write them down. We've been talking about tracking your diet, finances, etc. everyday of your life. It really is amazing what you can achieve when you hold yourself accountable and can see the results and finish line.

I need another .7 of a pound and I'm to my goal weight. 183.2 this morning. I think I'll just blow right past that goal.
These are great points Todd. I would also add that it's important for goals to be time based and measureable. Lets say you want to lose weight and get in better shape

Bad goal structure: "I want to lose some weight and make it to the gym when I can"

Good goal structure: "I will weigh xxx by (insert date) and will spend one hour in the gym 4 times a week, or be able to jog a mile in xx minutes by (insert date).

Only if they're measureable are you able to track your progress and even know if you've reached the goal. I've done it both ways and when there's a number out there for me to hit I work twice as hard. Same thing if I'm competing for a similar goal with a friend of mine, I HATE to lose.

Now, I'm going to go find a health and diet forum and start a thread about building a pro-touring car!

Another good point is the brain is wired in a way that you will always find the answers..

You must ask the right questions...Never use the word "why"..

As in , "Why can't I lose weight ? " , or " Why am I fat ? ", you will only come up with REASONS, and not ANSWERS..

I would use the word "How".

"How am I going to lose weight ? ", or "How am I going to get healthy ? "

"Why" just gives us a reason to cop out.. "How " will give us the answers..

Just my thoughts..

Gained a pound when I checked the scale this morning. I was 179 but I ate alot yesterday and last night. Had a steak and spinach salad at about 3:30 p.m. and then took the boys to Sun Splash(water slide theme park) Got home at around 8:30 p.m. and bbq'd burgers. Had 3 large slices of pizza and one burger. Yeah, I know, too much, too late at night but I was hungry.

Had a scrambled egg sandwich and a protein drink this morning and then hit the gym. Worked back and bicep muscles this morning along with my last workout which is always abs.

I am a little sore but not to sore and it feels good. Already starting to see a little definition but the gut is still there.
