If my tuning screw driver's hard drive fails I can fix it with a file.

Sometimes you just want to get out of your comfy surroundings and camp, sit by a fire; bike, hike or surf the surroundings. Rough it for a few days just live a simple basic life and unwind.

I don't remember saying a carb was always better than EFI but sometimes, maybe in those times of seeking enlightenment by living simple, outdoor plumbing or a carb is superior.

To me that is what a hot rod or PT car is about. It's simple, raw, obnoxious in ways, and quirkey at times. Something you can tinker with with the simplest of tools and experience to dial in.

If I was motivated to build a comfy luxury cruiser like a 57 Caddie I'm sure I'd opt for FI. But I am not building a daily driver or something I even want to be refined and smooth.

There is something about dialing in your 4bbl or pair of 4bbls that I like.

There is something to be said about the sound of a NA motor breathing through those carbs.

All of it is part of what I want from a PT car.

I don't wear a digital watch either even though it's more efficient.

Ron having EFI doesn't make you a weenie but there are EFI weenies. If you can't tune your own but profess it is better than a carb in every way you may be showing symtoms

So I did get a chance to clean up my tunnel cutting and remove all the dash and wiring. Even with the motor set this far back you can see I have plenty of room for the new footwells. There is also a bunch of room up under the dash.

This will make building the cage way easier. More so for Brett than me since he will be doing al the welding on the cage.

It may not look a lot different than the previous photo but it is progress.

I tune efi cars for a living, of course I have to bust balls when the carb comments start flying around!

Hell it was just 15 short years ago I was cruising around in my 70 Chevelle with a dual quad roots blown big block. It had some good qualities......like......well.....8mpg

Rob,

At least this car is interesting enough to where your fellow gearheads are tryin' to 'help' you make sure that you build it...correctly.
