Hi Mark, what made you choose the Holley transmission crossmember over the design you’ve been doing in your past few builds?
Is it still a C&R radiator, did they do the fabrication on the lower and side mounts or is it another cool design of yours and Matt’s?

Time and Money....

The “cool” design is very nice, but very labor intensive. The Holley crossmember is easier and less expensive.

Mark can you tell us where you source the radiator mounts? Looking for ones like that. Thanks.

The lower mounts are C6 Corvette on stock style pins. The weight of the cooling stack sits on mounts that bolts to the frame. The radiator, intercooler, ac condenser and fan as an assembly. It has some weight.

The side mount is a fabricated mount using a grommet. The radiator side has a turned pin. The other brakes is a fabricated mount. This constrains the rad for after but allows for expansion.

The system allows the radiator to float. I have failed a number of radiators do to ridged mounts. We want to it to have room to expand as it heats up.

Again look at a way a stock (New Car) radiator is mounted. Copy that.

Mark

Mark, I always enjoy keeping up with your builds, very informative. The grommets for your radiator are they from McMaster-Carr? Thanks again

Thanks Ken! This is the last set of Alex ends you made for me.

DSE makes a system now, but I like my set up a little better.

Thanks!

Moving on to the induction tube. Because GM went to a bigger 95 mm throttle body on the LT5 we are going to a 4.5 inch induction tube.

Default Camaro LT5

Aaron Oberle made me some fender emblems. Because I want them to fit the fender the are not flat. Curved in both directions. Not a simple part!
