Hey Rob, good to see some progress pics. I pushed my motor back through the firewall also, but just 5 inches. I am still able to use the stock cowl panel but the firewall will be under the cowl panel a little ways. I did 67 nova with a big block pushed back a few inches and made the cowl a removable piece to access the dist.. Is that kinda what your planning or is the cowl going to become the rear of the hood?

Default 1969 Torino

Except the dizzy is in the front on a Ford
so that access is good unless you have a
Pantera and the damn thing is on the wrong end

But a Chebby motor is just not right in a Ford
but my buddy has a Cleveland in his Camero
dry lakes car doing 187 plus. now that is ok

I'm 7.5" back from where the motor was but that actually puts the back of the motor about 4-5" behind the old firewall so probably the same as where yours sits.

We will rebuild the bottom of the cowl panel to allow for clearance of the valve covers but no need for access through the cowl panel.

The firewall itself will have an access panel to get to the bellhousing bolts so I can get the out without removing the engine.

That's the way I feel, but to each their own.

Everybody has the right to their project up however they want as long as it makes them happy.
