Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

It was raining. It actually is in really good shape. 69 Cobra. 1198 built. 1 of 2 console cars. And the only one with AM radio with previous mentioned console. 428 cobra jet with 4 speed. The guy has documentation with certificate signed by director of Ford in 2013. I'm still pessimistic. But it may be the real thing. I'd leave it alone if I bought it.

That is pretty much the holy grail of stock 69 fairlanes right there. It has all th right trim pieces and black is a great color. All it needs is some poverty caps.

Payton

Remember when I picked this little gem up?

It's been a while but I finally got around to posting some pictures of it.

For those that weren't with us in the best place in the world to go shopping, Mooresville NC, it's a NASCAR spec locker with Gleason REM polished gears and a Tex racing internal pump driven off the pinion.

When I was there I couldn't resist purchasing a better air box than the one I had. I paid to much for it but it was new, natural carbon, light as hell and well a NASCAr part. I was like a moth flying into a light just couldn't stop myself.

This week another couple parts showed up. Nothing special just some brake ducts from LG. But they will be cool.

I've been down at the shop a couple days a week last month. I pulled the rear housing and suspension out and trimmed up the rear wheel lips. My inner wheelwell and my quarter, unlike a camaro, opens up and has more clearance above the wheelwell lip. So the lip is the closest point of contact.

I trimmed it back to .25" thick. Then it mates with the inner wheelhouse going vertical from the remaining lip. I'll get a couple of decent pictures of it next week. But the tire has nothing but a flat wall to rub against.

Today I put all the suspension and my wheels back in and cycled the suspension through full compression and full compression on one side with the other side at varying heights. Here is a picture of the closest the tire gets. This is about ride height on the drivers side with the passengers side fully compressed. At this point the top of the tire is tipped out and the widest part of the tire is right at the closest point of contact to the body.

Matt A likes to call this the Hell fit clearance.
