The MAJOR issue with the Coyotes is the width.... when you actually are trying to build one of these little cars (32-33-34 Fords) you'd see just how pinched they are in the nose... and we're pinching this one a bit more - and lowing the grill as well to get a bit more "rake"... They just simply don't fit. They're, IIRC, about 9" wider head to head than an LS motor.

The LS3 480hp was billed from the Briz at $6500... and the headers are most likely off the shelf... You just can't hardly find a good reason to do something "else" unless you're just going out of your way to be different. Then that's a different kind of build than what I'm doing.

Commission Dart to build you a one-off aluminum one.
While the idea is mostly in jest it would be unique and deliver plenty of usable power.

The picture of my friends car show that width issue. While it still looks good it does detract from the look IMO.

Blah, blah, blah... all I'm hearing is the sound of you wussing out..

J/K GW, I get it. This is to be a comfortable driver with no quirks...and it is your build (as we've all grown so fond of saying around here lately).

But that's a 5.4.

For all the bustin' GW does on a certain member on a certain engine buy in a certain thread,

Greg? Greg Weld? Seriously?

Is the Coyote that much narrower? I haven't seen spec's just assuming which isn't a good habit in this environment.

Not sure on the dimensions...

I didn't bother checking since Greg turned us (aka FoMoCo) down.

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

Jerdawg,

That's awesome...is this the same motor?

"This BRM race car ran a 1.5 litre 16 cylinder super charged engine, which on paper could rev up to 12,000 rpm and push out over 600 bhp."

BMW inline 6 power in a "slightly" de-tuned version of this one?

Quote:
It's a 2004 Norma M20 chassis, powered by a BMW S50B30 engine, an inline 6 lifted from the E36 M3 and tuned by Armaroli Sport (a stone throw away from the Ducati factory, which is on the other side of Bologna's airport), coupled with a Sadev sequential gearbox (can't recall too well but I think it was an SLR82/14).

man you are right Greg. We have just a basic 383 small block with a VA front runner and the power steering pump is wider than the grill shell. things get tight in a hurry
