Default Ignition on Wiring-figuring out what is left (( 09-08-22 ))

Holley wires that need to go to the brake pedal switch. You are looking for the wire that is hot when the pedal is depressed.

More Holley wire that need to Hot while cranking and still hot once cranking stop.

Couple more wires that need to be connected

Don't worry about your post gave the clue of what to search for and I accidently found and of course ordered it. Should be here on Tuesday the 11th. Which means I once again have to take the darn starter out. Ugh !!!

Super easy to use and saved me hours of driving back and fourth to Midwest Hot Rods to have them crimp my lines.

Default Confirming we have enough inward travel on the driveshaft (( 09-10-22 ))

My OCD is slowly killing me and I just want to make sure that there is sufficient inward trave for the driveshaft.

So I slid it in till it bottom out and it looks like I have just shy of 7/8" of travel.

I also took a few pictures of everything that will be behind the dash so I can reference these pictures in the future. Looking back I may do a quick video just in case.

Default Holly ECU Map Sensor Plumbing (( 09-10-22 ))

I have had several people ask me what parts I used to connect the Map Sensor to the ECU.

I picked up this brass fitting from Amazon.

Default Holley Gas Tank Filler Neck (( 09-10-22 ))

Well it's just a little to long so I am going to cut a little bit off. I searched the garage and found this bottle of
Funk Away that fit perfectly inside the hose and it made cutting it so much easier.

Test fitting found it was just a little bit to long so I cut off just a little more.

Holy Crud is it hard to get in their and tighten the hose clamp.

It's finally in and holy crap did this simple job suck.

Looking back it would of been so much easier to drop the tank and put the neck on.

Time to call it a night a go inside and lay on the couch with the dog.

Default Aviation Gasket Sealant (( 09-12-22 ))

Found it and thank you Andrew

Time to seal the cork gasket

Did I mention how happy I am that I installed the access panel

The red line helped me line up the gasket on the fuel pump side.

I reconnected all the fuel lines and the vent hoses.

Well the quality of this picture is terrible.

Default Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator (( 09-17-22 ))

I had a couple option for the fuel pressure regulator throughout this thread and I have settled on this version.

Did I mention how much I dislike Cancer Warnings.

Details.

Default Lokar Dip Stick Fill Tube Modification (( 09-17-22 ))

In order to fill the trans I needed to find a safe way to fill the trans without spilling the trans fluid all over the place.

A quick trip to Home Depot so I can figure out a decent solution.

Lokar Supply's a little 3" fill tube which is quite useless in my opinion. You can see the fill tube they supplied slides in with resistance so it shouldn't leak.

More Blue Tape Notes.

Time to tighten the motor mounts and it looks like I need to go grab some lock washer since I can't seem to find them.

Thankfully Ace Hardware is only a few miles away.

All Better

Picked up my new new Optima Battery today wow has the price gone up.

Another while I am here job. I added the charge wire that came with the Optima battery charger.

I snaked the wire down the back of the battery & core support. You can see it neatly hiding under the battery tray.

I finally added a zip tie to the starter wires.

Holy Crap I am finally putting Oil back in the motor.

Finally installed the 45mm Throttle Body Hardware.

Sorry these pictures suck. I finally figured out a good way to run the vintage air drain.

Looking up

I snaked it up and over the frame rail.

I also took a few reference pictures so I can draw up a battery wiring diagram.

You can see I moved the Holley ECU ground to the battery disconnect side.

All the grounds going to the stud on the back of the core support.

Tomorrow it get's the trans fluid.

The VA drain line routing photos reminded me I need to do the same. I've been using the cheap plastic drain line they supplied and, even with heat shielding over it, it's deformed from header heat.

Do you happen to recall the size of your Gates hose? I can't seem to make out the size from these photos.

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I am doing this from memory and I am fairly certain I am correct that it is 3/8". On a side note I went with the Gate's hose is the hose wasn't as flimsy as the generic 3/8" hose that I had laying around.
