OK- I don't care what anybody says, getting married at 2 is just too young.

Just kidding with you there DT.

My old man always says, "If I had known there was going to be this many stupid people in the world, I would have thought of a way to make money off them".

I'm going to have to agree with him. I would have done the same. Instead I went to college and I can barely afford to work on my car these days. What the hell was I thinkin'?

Hey guys!
Awesome advice, I am still pondering it. But I thought I would give you an update.

I went down to see the office and meet the people tonight. Commute is 45-60minutes door to door. That is ALOT through the city. That is the negative. The positive, the office is like working for google, very uncorporate, pretty much everyone is in their 20's, except upper management. To say the what the company is, they create trading software for other companies and hedge fund traders...the buy sell software, and I would be doing accounting stuff for them. I sat on like a couch talkin to 4 young kids about the job, while they ate ice cream from the fully stocked kitchen! It would be fun, but the biggest issue is time, and I have the weekend to think about it. So keep it coming! Is the balance of time, class, and work too much, or is it a matter of organization and taking the opportunities in front of you??????

Thanks guys
Tim

Think it ALL the way through. Sometimes "relaxed and un-corporate" equates to a lack of process and real leadership direction.
Also, some of those types of places tend to spend waaaaaay too much time focusing on relationships and other touchy feeley stuff. Often at the expense of noticing if people are actually effective.
I have seen people that are nice and that get along but can't actually DO anything on their own make it and those that maybe get a little grumpy now and then, but are skilled and actually perform do not.

asking for advice is great, but what it really comes down to.... is you deciding what is right for you. obviously you have goals and plans for achieving them, and that is more that 99% of the rest of the population. i personally went the wrong way, which took a while to get back on track for my goals. long story...but basically i dropped out of college in order to join the marines, got booted out before i even got shipped out, couldnt get back into school, worked 47 different places trying to get the skills needed for what i wanted to do. now...10 years later (im 28 btw) i am doing what i want to do, i actually do make a decent living, but everything i makes goes to try and make more.... most of the time its a long uphill struggle until my "investments" are liquidated, then the cycle starts over again.

your goals will change, your "plan" will change as things in life change, i say jump on the opps that come your way, sometimes they will bite ya in the ass, but as long as you walk away with something positive...then overall its worthwhile.

Id say go for the internship. Bust your ass now and you'll be able to enjoy it more later. Ill be 38 when I retire from my first career, the Air Force, I will have a paycheck, medical, dental benefits, and a few other perks. I joined the Air Force right after highschool. Unfortunatly my job's, cardiopulmonarytechnician, school is around 11.5 months long. And let me tell you military training sucks even in the airforce I crammed what takes a civilian 2-3 years into 11.5 months. I hope this makes a little sence because it 1140pm I'm beat and I've been driving all day

Well, I decided to take it. I guess with all the standards I hold myself too, and all the goals I have set for myself, I could not really come up with an excuse not to take this. It just means I will have to organize time better, and prioritize. Maybe stay off Lateral-g.net so much!!

But I am starting tomorrow! Thanks for all the imput guys!
