both the skyline and supra are way over hyped cars a skyline power and weight is about the same as a v6 mustang who brags about owning one of them. Most high powered supra are dyno queens 1500hp and only run a 10 is sad.I had a 240sx with a rb25det in it that thing was a money pit id cry if i added it all up.But i have about the same amount in my 68 mustang and it would eat my 240sx at everything but mpg.

I agree they're over hyped and that's why their price are holding up.

i have on the other hand been on the other end of stupidity.. we were out in my buddys twin turbo 31 roadster messing with some fuel and ignition.. and a gsxr600 tries to cut in front and we floor it and he just cant get past us... this happens 3 times from red.. and we pull away by a car length or two every time.. and guess what the gut sais at the last light??... nice car... lucky for you i didnt run more that half throttle.... why even bull****? he was crouched over and beating that bike to death... and his muffler was so loud you could hear he was just torturing that thing.

They are the cars of 'their' generation (and bikes) we didnt all start out owning $15K cars and bikes- I guess they have to start with what they afford. If you are only making $30K a year, you cant go out and blow it all on a car or bike (although some of us would!)

What I dont like is the lack of respect from some of the guys who own them. THATS not cool

Come on guys, really??!?! I'm sure you exhibited the upmost respect for your elders when you romped through the neighborhoods, knocking out mail boxes... I'm not advocating childish behavior on the part of teenage ricers. But what do expect from childern?

Your first mistake was wasting that $ on a 240. They are often reffered to as training wheels for power.

As for the Supras and Skylines, I'd agree that MOST Supras are dyno queens or giant Lag Monsters at best. But they are definitly making more power than your little v6 sh!tbox bud!

There are a few Skylines boasting 1000 Hp (and not dyno queens). I believe an FD (RX-7) held the record for the fastest street legal car for several years. (was it the red one from RX7.net?)

But are we really gonna wrap Skylines, Supras and RX7s in with Hondas and Celicas??!?!?!?!?!!!?!? The "Ricers" in questions don't have the time, resources and patients to build one of these. That's why they only buy bolt ons.

Just for the record, how often are the pretty cars I see on this forum on the road? Not sure they are all dyno queens, but maybe garage queens is more appropriate.

I just don't get the complaint about ricers, especially on a car enthusiast forum. Maybe if this was LawDogsInc.com/forums but not from a bunch of gearheads.

My car hangs with 600cc bikes all day. It's my daily driven 87 Mazda RX7. I usually get the thumbs up after a little run with a bike.

I agree and/or respect everyone's opinion on this thread. On one hand Evo owners have big egos but on the other hand we are spending thousands of dollars on our muscle cars to try to make them handle and brake like and EVO or STI does. Believe me, I know fast imports, I lived across the street from Central Florida Turbo and TitanMotorsports I saw those guys grow from street racing to what they are now. I'm still an owner of a neon SRT-4 but we can't seem to have a meeting and getting broken up by the cops because some jerk off always wants to either burn out/hit the rev limiter a couple of time or always want to go off and race somewhere. Now I live in central Fl. (lived in Orlando until recently) there are four major drag strips within a 150 mile radius, Gainsville, Brandeton, Moroso and Orlando Speedworld. Speedworld is IN Orlando and is open to the public every wednesday and friday night and once a month on saturdays, why street race. I love all kinds of cars but it's really hard to defend some of this people that own sport compacts. Like this guy with drag radials on the rear.

I know a lot of low 12sec and 11 sec cars can keep up with a 600cc bike but you have to be in the 10sec range to keep up with a liter bike, 9 sec for a Hayabusa or ZX14. and lets be realistic how many ten second cars are on the road. As far as the Supra comment I just said they're the only imports who seem to hold their value, along with skyline and some FD's
