The reason as I understand it is (please correct me if you know otherwise) there are only one or two manufacturers out there that manufacture the barrels (inner and outer lips) for the wheels. Each wheel manufacturer (HRE, iForged, Forgeline, etc) will machine their center pieces, but will get the barrels from Manufacturer A or B. If manufacturer A or B doen't make the barrel in 18" diameter and in the widths desired, then you dont have a wheel.
The way the industry is today, there is a huge demand for wheels 19" or greater and not so much for the 18", therefore chances of getting a 3 piece 18x12 w/ 5.5 in a reverse lip configuration is slim to none. 3 piece 18x12 w/ 5.5 BS are available, just not in the reverse lip.
The most frustrating part for me is, 19" is fine with me, but the lack of tire choice is what i can't deal with.
Now it is looking like if i want an 18x12 reverse lip wheel, i am going to have to go with a one piece wheel that has been cut and a slug welded in the inner part of the barrel. This isn't appealing to be for a few reasons, but mainly because i have yet to find a style of wheel that i like in a one piece. I have always been a huge fan of 3 piece wheels and it is really dissapointing that they can't even custom do a wheel for me that will make me happy.
And the hunt continues...
