Front coil over spec

On my strut car with an iron block and heads, a 300# C/O has a wheel rate of 270#. This wheel rate more than exceeds the wheel rate of conventional springs in the 1000# range. I think a wheel rate calculation is more relevant than static spring rate.

So what are the wheel rates we are discussing?

I am gonna swap out my coil overs for a set of ride tech to match my 4 Link. I was taking some measurements that Ryan asked for at ride height and was wondering if my lower control angle is ok? The bottom of the control arm is not level to the ground.

Depending on the motion ratio, it really varies but 350lb sounds very light on a coilover. For example, with our control arms and their motion ratio, we run a 650lb for a street/daily driver feel.

The firmness that you're experiencing could be cause by coil bind, shock bottoming out, etc.

just to ad gas to the fire. i think 350 is too light and agree with Rod that you then need to adjust the compression way up to have the car not bottom out.

what springs are you running on the rear? lets get you with the right rear spring before you install what you have...you can exchange them before installation!

I picked up a set of 550lbs 10" long coils from QA1. Installing them in the next few weeks. Keep you posted on how it works out. Thanks to everyone for their help.
