i'll post more pics as i get more done.

for me it didn't cost much, my father and i bought it in 1998 as a complete POS for 500$ and did a low budget resto in my uncle's body shop and had lots of great help from the guys who knew what they were doing. so it pretty much cost a set of fenders, a windshield and paint +500$. my dad rebuilt the 350 when he was in trade school for next to nothing.

I plan on doing the same with my front bumper. I'm going with a fiberglass hood and I removed all the heater and stereo stuff. If you cage the car you can take out the heavy door crash bars and the inner fenders. It may be a the same in terms of weight, but you'll be more rigid and your doors should close better! haha

I like the door idea, and it will be getting a cage at some point. as for the heater, i'm not sure if i'll keep it or not (i'm not even sure if i have room in there as it is to hook up hoses)

anyone know if it would be legal or even practical to make that huge bumper out of carbon fiber instead of the enourmous plate of steel?

i'm gonna look at it this evening and see if it can be done

Thanks alot! ya i did the fabbing... my welding is questionable at best... i think it will hold but it's not quite beautiful

as for hp i will be shooting for 1000 fw

no experience with megasquirt, just read what i can. apparrently it's pretty good, i mean it's probably no tec3r but definatly worth the money. you can either buy it as a kit or there are a few people that build them (who know what they're doing) and sell them ready to install.

Never heard of VEMS. Megasquirt II is out now too, but i'm gonna try mine first, if it sucks i'll skip the cheap stuff and go for FAST or something
