I really have wanted a old school hot rod of some sort, with getting this car it fits a idea I have had. So I am doing a tribute to Bill Thomas and Nickey a copy of their 68 poster car, red on black 427 stage III Camaro, I want to do it era correct with as much vintage parts as I can, might not fit here but I will be glad to keep up on pics of the new project if people like?
I made a fresh score last night with a new ad reads simple !!WANTED!! 67-69 camaro 12 bolt rear end, well $1000.00 later I have a nice clean 373 posi 69 date code 12 bolt for the car, I need to weld new pads on it, they had it in a 56 chevy. I have a engine already I put togeater just because the stuff was there so it is a good start but I will need to find a offy 360 dual quad intake for it, (need to make a ad) the stage III package was a Offy 360 dual quad the Bill Thomas poster car had Holley's on it but most from Nickey were 750 Carters. This is the engine I'm going to use a era correct BB nothing special flat top closed chamber solid roller deal should make good power in the little car, even has date coded packard wire on it, the finish on the valve covers is a mixture of acids I like the look kinda greenish blue hue's to it, I think I am just going to call the car !!WANTED!! seems to fit the bill...

It sounds like a cool project.

Nickey used Carter Carbs early on, in their Super Camaro Conversion program because Dick Harrell was; 1) sponsored by them. 2) He could make them work.

So both types of carbs were used in 1967. In '68 & '69 they mostly used Holley Carbs.

Three duces, dual quads, X-Ram set ups, single three bbl, etc. Nickey would build whatever the customer needed for their specific application.
