Default insurance

I have been in buisness for 20 years it took 80 -100 hours a week to make ends meet and after about 3-5 years it gets better you only have to work 60-80 hrs a week. I would not have it anyother way.

Or you could do what I do..........without!!!

But seriously, shop and research as much as you possibly can.
You'll find something decent eventually but it will cost, period.

I have a group plan (2+ employees/members) with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (now Anthem). For myself $400/mo (best plan they offer), and for my partner/his wife/1 child $720/mo (2nd or 3rd tier plan).

I had an individual plan before I made him my partner, and I can tell you there is a huge advantage of having a group plan (either reduced or eliminated pre-existing condition clause issues) and you get more plan for your $.

Instead of calling all the different medical insurance companies, I went thru a broker who represented all of them. I was able to call 1 person and compare what each company offered and the cost for each of the plans. I paid the same price thru the broker that I would have if I called the insurance companies directly.

I have been using the same broker for the last 8-9 years and when my current medical insurance company decided to jack up my rates, I call my broker and compared prices and coverage. If he finds me a better deal, I switch.

If you can, avoid any gaps of not being covered. It tends to be tougher to get the insurance coverage back up and running.

Hope the info helps
