Yeah, they are in some seriously deep trouble.
I guess my point in posting this thread is, I haven't seen one thing in my area that this "stimulus" package is supposed to be helping. People are still losing their jobs. Just the other day, I went to the dentist's office and it was a ghost town. I asked the secretary, whose husband owns the practice, about business and she told me she haven't seen it this bad in 22 years!!
She stated that people are just getting the "minimum" amount of work done or what little dental coverage will cover. She also said that they had a condo in Florida and it was pretty bad there as well. The shops on the strip are closed, restaurants are closed. She said there are 20 story high rises with maybe three quarters of them being COMPLETELY EMPTY!! I know things will turn around, they always do. But, didn't this "stimulus" package get passed by congress over 3 months ago with "shovel ready" projects?? Yeah,.. right!!!
Ok, I'm done ranting. Thanks for listening guys/gals.

They didn't even read the stimulous package bill.....

As for the problems with California the people in our government want to expand similar programs to the rest or our country. We all need to wake up now before its too late.

At some point it will all turn around. But, in the mean time alot of people are still sinking more and more each month. My concern is how bad will it get before those people see the benefits of the stimulus package? I know it takes time and I am willing to give the current admin. a chance.
I got hurt last year at work just before everything in my line of work crashed. Now I am trying to get into school. They are full and programs are getting cut while tuition goes up. So I don't see that light at the end of the tunnel yet. I know it's there, it's just a really dark tunnel right now.

No matter what changes are made, it will rebound. The problem I see is the wrong people getting credit for something that would have happened without their input.

The government needs a serious makeover ! I am not going to slam anyones party, but we all have to admit, this doesn't look good (unless your a politition)... The govt. has too much control, plain and simple... I wish the best interest of the people were # 1 concern, we wouldn't be in this situation right now...

Its good to see something good coming from the new administration. I, more than anyone was skeptical after the election last year (ok, I was out right furious) but I have the give them a chance to fail, just like everyone else, and so far, I like what I see.

My problem with the new administration is that if the idea isn't a good one, its REALLY REALLY bad and those seem to be the ones that they are hell-bent on getting running.

Also, don't get me started on California...

Bill
You know, I was about to look like an ass. I typed out a nice response to your reply Bill because I read it wrong. I was ripping you a new one and the whole time, you said the exact opposite of what I thought you said. Funny how one little word can do that. Carry on.

As for the stimulus plan. It was nothing but a giant pork barrel bill. There was no real stimulus in it. They were just spending money to spend it. Reports have also been released shortly after it passed detailing the details. Which as mentioned is something that the politicians didn't even learn for themselves before voting on the bill. The details show that the stimulus money wasn't even to be spent until later in this year and early next year. FDR already proved that public works projects and spending your way out of a recession does not work. Yet here we are again trying it all over in hopes that it works this time.

The economy will rebound because it is stronger than the government. Unless a complete take over and full socialization is put into effect. The long term problems caused by O's forced involvement will be devastating and put us further behind the rest of the world in terms of manufacturing, product development, and free enterprise. We were already behind because of utterly dumb tax policies and favoritism to select groups of people/corporations. He and the law makers in Congress show no signs of changing these asinine policies. Talk of increasing corporate taxes just means, you, the consumer will pay more for a good. No business pays taxes. Taxes are collected and factored into the cost of the good/service being sold. There is even talk of a VAT(value added tax). This is an even more ridiculous corporate tax that again will be paid by you and me. It's all about power. These people care not for you and me. If they did, they would lower taxes to stimulate the economy. Every time this has occurred, here and around the world(anyone notice what Ireland has done), it has worked. Every time taxes are increased, things slow down and yet Dems still won't learn.

If you live in Mass, Michigan, or Ohio, you need to get out now. Michigan has failed and is not going to recover anytime soon. Years of Democratic control has destroyed that state and rotted it from the inside out. Mass and Ohio are heading that way too. Mass especially as they continue to tax the piss out of people. Don't bother moving the Maryland either. They are one of the least free states in the country and have some of the highest taxes. My suggestion is to move to a state that has no state income tax laws. Or laws that do not target the "rich" who some how don't pay their "fair share" even though they fund the overwhelming majority of government.

Obama and the Dems are a joke and I have no faith anything they do will work because of them and their actions. Socialism has never worked in the past and it never will work in the future. Think it's bad now, just wait til they destroy health care in this country.

I didn't mean to start a political fight between the Dems & Repubs nor do I want to.
I just wanted to know if anyone has seen some progress in this "stimulus" package? It got passed back in February and it now mid June. I've seen no help from it so far. I know it was A LOT of money that we're talking about, but still, where's the results? People are still losing jobs, never mind their homes and vehicles. (Although there is a slow down in job losses weekly, the number is still great!)
Ok. I'm done bitching!! lol
