1st gen Camaro steering

Has anyone used the IROC-Z steering box? A friend of mine wants to put one on his 67. What is involved? I think the actual box will bolt up to the stock frame. The late model box has a shorter lock to lock turning radius. 2 1/2 turns? I think the box has metric threads also. Thanks for any help.

I recently installed one on my car. I ordered one for an 88 Iroc from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $117 and then used my original box for a $25 core. Call up Lee Manufacturing and order their rag joint kit. Comes with the rag joint and two adaptors for the pressure and return connections. The kit is about $97 plus shipping if I remember.

Definately let me know as well. I have my sub out of the car and the manual box is not going back in and I would like to spend the money somewhere other than a 600 box if the performance is still good.

I went this route and bought a reman IROC box from Advanced. Ill put it in today but wont be able to drive it for a few weeks. Ill Let you know how the install goes. I read somewhere I can use a'79 Nova rag joint and I'll need to buy a power pitman arm since I am converting from manual steering.

Last night I got this bolted up. It went in very straight forward. I bought a steering coupler for a '79 Nova for $35 and now I'll have to wait on the power pitman arm, most likely the rebuild kit from DSE. Ill have to get some pictures up.
