whats with all the wood? is that how they came back in the day?

Yes all the Chevy's came with wood structures for the sheetmetal in the cab that most likely why they never lasted like the Fords of that time.

Here's a few more of the back section of the frame that we cut out the stock gas tank mounts and boxes to match the rest of the frame.





And heres the new rear cross brace that we added into the rear of the frame.

So the truck came with Dual rear shocks.... um not so kool but we did a little work to make the best of what we had. heres the start.

Nice work on the frame detail. I really like how well that cross member finished up.
