It's almost like the builders are able to schedule around the right year to take the trophy home in recent years. The cars that win seem to have all been way beyond the nearest competition, and those builders almost seem to bow out allowing someone else to carve a new notch in their walking stick.

Back in 06-07 it was said that if Foose showed up the award was his - he was the man to beat. Then Troy won, and people were saying they didn't know how anyone was ever going to top First Love. I was chompin at the bit to see Foose and Trepanier go head to head for the Ridler - my popcorn is stale and my beer is flat now! It's almost like there was some type of opposition to this type of dominance and competition, and a sort of unwritten community fairness policy instituted.
I'm all for sharing, but competition is supposed to be won by the one with the killer instinct. Imagine if your team decided in the middle of the season they had enough rings, and purposely fouled any chances of being in a Bowl Game! Imagine if your favorite boxer or MMA fighter decided, about mid-fight, "know you what, I've hit you enough already, why don't you have a few rounds of practice on my head? Just to make it a fair fight!"
