THANKS for the pics!
I've often wondered what a diesel engine would look like "all cleaned up". That Caddy is awesome!
I definately have a sweet spot for converted busses, even the step-child of the bus world, bay windows. I am very interested to see how the cooling works out for them, something I struggled with on my Ecotec here in the muggy south.

Tones --

The 'plan' is to leave the subu engine bone stock.... it's way more HP than what came in the VW and they used the entire trans etc... (whatever it is)... They're really just building this for fun nothing nasty.

Jeff-
Jeff -- if you check out the dual snorkels on each side of the radiator --- they're going to run those with marine version in-line fans (and dual electrics on the radiators) -- up to the "vent / grills" in the rear corners.

I'll post up some pics of the UGLY version of the diesel for comparison! It's how cow wow now! Compared to what it did look like.

Thx Greg for the shots of their shop !!! Those guys sure build some wild stuff !! I look forward to seeing more info on the bus project too. It's kinda like the ferambo project - different and innovative for sure (which I love).

Jeff - we still dig your ecotec panel van man !!

Thx, Jim

Greg,
I like how their design for the diesel "clean-up" still has a real mechanical/machine feel to it. So much lately has been to smooth and cover. Engines should look like engines .

When you say the bus has the whole drivetrain, I'm guessing you dont mean AWD too? I tried the same ideas on the cooling, duct fans, dual rad fans, oversized rad, I still had issues on a hot, muggy day (but then I'm shade tree and they are Divers ).

Jim,
Thanks! She's gone but not forgotten. That project taught me a ton (mostly how very little I know about fab and re-engineering ). I hope your project gets going again soon.

Ferrambo is one of my all-time favorites. I love this thread! It's great to see that the creativity that was behind Ferrambo is alive and well.
